How do I clean my Oven Steel?Updated 8 months ago

Unless you cook directly on your Oven Steel, it won't need to be cleaned very often. You can hand wash it in warm, soapy water once it’s completely cool and, if there is any, burnt-on food can be scraped off. Towel dry the steel immediately after washing to prevent rust. Please do not put the Oven Steel in your dishwasher as this will also cause it to rust.

Please note that we do not recommend leaving the Oven Steel in your oven during the self-clean cycle. The self-cleaning cycle in home ovens produces a lot of fine carbon ash that needs to be wiped down. The self-cleaning cycle may also carbonize the steel’s seasoning, and require it to be reseasoned.
