Why does Carbon Nonstick have an aluminum core?Updated 2 months ago
An aluminum core is actually unusual in carbon steel cookware! We added an aluminum core for three reasons:
1. Aluminum is very light, so it counteracts the weight of the carbon steel and gives this pan the perfect heft for long-term usability, while still being light enough to easily lift and move around the kitchen.
2. Aluminum heats (and cools) very quickly. Unlike traditional carbon steel where it can take a little longer for the pan to heat up, this pan will heat very quickly, saving you time.
3. Aluminum is more responsive and easier to cook with than heavier materials. Because it heats and cools quickly, you can easily control the heat on your food. For example, if your pan is smoking and the food is burning, turn down the heat and the pan will start to cool immediately.
